Welcome to the Budokan Karate Dojo official web page.
Budokan Karate dojo teaches traditional Meibukan Gojyu-Ryu karate.
The dojo is certified to teach Meibukan Gojyu-Ryu and licensed by the hombu dojo in
Okinawa, Japan. We are members of International Meibukan Gojyu-Ryu Karate-do Association,
IMGKA, and are direct students of Master Meitatsu Yagi the president of the organization.
Master Yagi tries to get to Budokan Karate dojo in Brantford to teach seminars at least
annually and some years we have been fortunate enough to have a second teaching trip.
Sensei Ken Trebilcock is the owner and chief instructor at Budokan Karate dojo and has over
40 years of martial arts experience. He has trained since 1993 under Grand Master Meitoku
Yagi and his successor and heir Master Meitatsu Yagi. He holds the rank of Rokudan or 6th
Dan under his teacher Master Meitatsu Yagi. Sensei Trebilcock has over 20 years of teaching
experience. Sensei Trebilcock is also General Secretary for the worldwide organization,
IMGKA, and is the main contact person for membership in the organization.
We have two dojos to serve our students.
The original dojo is located at the home of Sensei Ken Trebilcock and day classes are
conducted there Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12 – 130pm.

The new dojo is located at 69 Colborne St. W. in Brantford with classes conducted there Monday
and Wednesday evening from 600 – 830pm and Saturday morning from 10 – 12 noon.
